The Museum of Black Inventors opened February 25, 1996 in the Central West End of St. Louis
Missouri.
Located just east of beautiful Forest Park and the Chase Park Plaza Hotel, the Museum welcome
s
visitors from around the globe.

The original Gallery housed inventions in the form of drawings, photographs, documentation and
Replicas.  The Museum also displays innovative improvements of inventions by African
Americans.  In 1997 the "Knowledge On Wheels Traveling Exhibit" was introduced as a way to
showcase Black Inventions around the US.

The Black Inventions Exhibit has been displayed at corporations like Kraft Foods in Chicago
during Black History Month Celebrations.  Navy Pier in Chicago, The African World Festival in
Milwaukee Wisconsin, Kansas City Black Expos, University of MO Columbia, The
Prinicpia School,
American Family Insurance, East St Louis Public Library and hundreds of

schools, colleges, Universities, and more.

The Museum
collaborate with the St. Louis Cultural Arts Center to host many programs that serve
the community.  
Annual Museum Fund raisers, annual Youth Ball, Mother Daughter Fashion Show
and Blog
,"Camp Inventions" youth summer camp and Entrepreneur Youth & Women
Empowerment Zone and more.
MOBI was founded by Loretta Moore a native of St. Louis,
and a woman determined to educate the public about
contributions by African Americans that helped to build
America.
